An 80s pop culture explosion

It's hard to believe now, considering all that's happened in the last few years, but I used to be quite an Americanophile. I'm a sucker for diners, muscle cars, steaming sewer grills and all the other ephemera from the American pop culture I was raised on. I've been on several road trips across 22 states, always hoping to capture a spark of movie magic but never quite being able to.

This piece was inspired by a road trip that ended in New York. Walking around Times Square I was overwhelmed by the familiarity of it. It was like being on a thousand film and TV sets all at once. The perfect backdrop for a visual celebration of all things 80s.
